What is Heart Rate?
180 bpm – Heart rate or pulse rate is the sum of times your heart beats in one minute. It’s a simple measure of how your heart works during rest or activity.
Heart rate is unique of the vital signs you regularly check whenever you visit your doctor or admits to the hospital.
Your heart rate is lower once you are resting and higher when doing an activity or feeling stressed or anxious.
Once you exercise, your heart has to work harder, increasing your heart rate. When you rest, the heart rate gradually decreases and returns to its average level, usually within an hour.
How to check your Heart Rate?
You might check your heart rate by counting your pulse. A pulse can remain felt in different places on the body, such as the sides of the neck, the wrist, plus the top of the foot. For example, to check your wrist pulse using your middle and index fingers, you must:
Keep your middle and index fingers on the inner part of the wrist (thumb side) and continue pressing mildly until you can feel your pulse – the feet of the pulse in your radial artery.
After locating your pulse, look at the watch and count beats for 30 seconds. Next, you can straight count the beats for 10 seconds and multiply the number by six to catch your heart rate. Doubling this number will give you your heart rate.
If you notice the rhythm of your heartbeat slightly irregular, you will need to count the beats entirely for up to 60 seconds. You will need to see your doctor if you consistently have a fast and irregular heartbeat.
What is an average inactive heart rate by age?
You can check your resting heart rate when you are resting – whether inactive or lying down. Actions such as smoking, having coffee, loud noises, and vigorous physical exercise make your heart beat faster for a whereas, so you might not get your special resting heart rate. And hereafter, this may interfere with the correct heart rate. Provided you have not smoked, consumed coffee, or exercised an hour vigorously before.
What is heart rate too high?
Mostly, a heart rate of more than 100 beats per minute (tachycardia) is considered high for adults.
Your heart rate typically rises when you walk fast, run, or do strenuous physical activities.
Is a heart rate of 200 bpm wrong?
Maximum heart rate and target heart rate
Before vigorous exercise, you need to know your maximum heart rate and target heart rate, which vary with age.
Exceeding your maximum heart rate is not vital for you. However, your maximum heart rate is subject to your age. It has main technology to improve the heart rate.
Deducting your age from the number 220 will give you your maximum heart rate. For example, suppose your age is 35, your maximum heart rate is 185 beats per minute. If your heart rate beats 185 beats per minute during exercise, it’s dangerous for you. So 200 beats per minute are ruthless for you in this case.
Similarly, if your age is 20, your maximum heart rate is 200 beats per minute. Thus, a heart rate above 200 beats per minute during exercise is dangerous for you.
If you develop palpitations, irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, or chest pain, you should seek medical attention immediately. It can be a sign of a coming heart attack or other life-threatening heart problems.
Your target heart rate zone is the heart rate range you should aim for if you want to be physically fit. It calculates between 60 and 80% of your maximum heart rate.
Your target heart rate supports you in knowing if you’re training at the right intensity.
It is always acceptable to consult your doctor before beginning any vigorous exercise. It is essential if you have diabetes, heart disease, or smoke. Your doctor may recommend reducing your target heart rate by 50% or more.
